I enjoyed the process of making this trailer as well as designing the game. I am so glad and lucky to have known and worked with three very fun and cooperative people in this project. Serene, Rachel and Zheng Jun made my experience in this project very memorable and enjoyable. Thank you! (bows and shows the kungfu gesture of saying thank you) Haha!
The trailer is pretty cheesy but that’s the whole idea! Haha! We went to the Botanic Gardens on a Sunday morning. We had to put up with the horrible weather (the worst weather combo ever= hot sun + no wind) to do the shoot. Rachel and Serene had no complaints with the repeated takes and performed so well! Zheng Jun handled the camera and took good shots to facilitate the video editing process. We are the GREAT COMBO TEAM! Wahaha!
It was a pretty tight schedule that we had. We did the shoot on Sunday and we had to present it on Tuesday. And in the meanwhile, we also had to improvise our game and do the accompanying documentation. Phew! I am glad that we pulled through!
Perhaps I should post videos of making the trailer. I was laughing so hard as I viewed the raw clips. Hope you enjoy this trailer. I am so inspired to produce more videos.
This was taken last November. It was pretty disturbing to have fish swarming towards your clueless feet and “devouring” them like no-fishes’s business. But you will get used to it after a while. I don’t remember feeling relaxed after the reflexology (which was meant to get us relaxed after the therapy?) but perhaps the number of dead skin cells on my feet should have been reduced though I have no idea how to measure it. What the fish.
Oh yes, thank you Chardy for his feet to be featured. Haha.
Due to the hangover from the latest Japanese animation film (Ponyo on the cliff by the sea) by Hayao Miyazaki, I used one of the soundtracks. I love the soundtracks from the whole film (not just the heavily sugar-coated theme song that could get a lil on my nerves after much hearing but i still love it sometimes).
Anyways, for people who love massages or feet reflexology for that matter, go give this a shot. Get your feet tickled by fish bites!
It’s been a long while since I last do my videos. I have never stop taking videos though I have stopped posting videos. But that’s gonna be temporary. Haha. I still love to share my videos here but hate the time to upload them.
It had been a pretty good break for me from school and work. I spent the last month of the 2008 freeing my mind from the mundane matters that I was cooped in as well as taking time out to spend with my loved ones. It feels like I had done a lot of things and I couldn’t believe that everything had happened just within a mere month. There were many thoughts and feelings that I had and I wish I could write about them or express them in some forms. Perhaps I shall make short films about them someday.
A new year brings about new dreams and hopes and ideas, but the key is to make them happen in reality. I read this quote somewhere. ”If you can dream it, you can do it.” - Walt Disney.
I have always love the idea of creation. It just brings about new possibilities. Perhaps that’s why I love personalizing my things. It gives me a sense of ownership. To me, nothing beats the possessing something that is created by you. It’s just like why all parents love their babies. I wonder if that was an apt example. Haha.
As if posting of photos wasn’t enough, a video was made to the reminisce about the great times of poking fun at our dear friend. Thanks to the mastermind behind all these. Wahaha.
I guess Jac would be pretty traumatized by now. Poor girl. She became the sacrifice for entertainment. Wahaha. Oh I also thought stella’s impersonation of an alien was pretty good as well. Did I say impersonation? Or should it be imALIENation? Haha. By the way, yingling’s laughter was indeed hilarious! Haha.
New media contents spread like what! Wahaha. Welcome to the new age of new media.
*** The YouTube version could probably load faster than the Vimeo version. The YouTube version has been shortened a little due to restrictions in duration. ***
I love the idea of acknowledgement, so I shall begin with my words of gratitude.
To Deddy and Chun Li, thank you for helping me out with the film for four consecutive days. Despite the hot and rainy weathers, my persistence to continue with the shoots never subsided. And despite my persistence, they had never once complained but followed my instructions. Without their co-operation, I wouldn’t be able to make anything out of it.
To my dear Chardy, thank you for making the arrangements for the making of the film and helping out with the logistics. I am sorry for the arguments along the way. I get pissed when things don’t work the way I want it to be. Especially towards people who matter greatly to me, I tend to place higher expectations towards them. Every frustration gives me misery, but every frustration also leaves me with some lessons. I learn and I know where I need to improve. Alright anyways, I still love you okay!
To Mai, thank you so much for the music compositions. From the day I met her to discuss the film to the day of the post-production, she has always been eager to help in any way she could. She recorded quite a handful of songs for me to choose from and improvised the music along with my requirements. I hope you have enjoyed the process of the film making. Same goes to Khoa, thank you for helping with some technical issues and I hope you have enjoyed acting as well. Haha.
To Yen Mei and Roy, I definitely couldn’t have forgotten you guys as well! Thank you so much for the narrations. Being terribly deficient in linguistics, I wouldn’t be able to craft such well written narrations. Furthermore, I wanted to make the film in mandarin as well. I am so glad that Yen Mei and Roy came to my rescue. After I reiterated the expressions and emotions that involved in a particular scene, Yen Mei formulated the lines amazingly. Although Roy was in the midst of preparing for his exams, he still came down to help out. The film wouldn’t have been complete without your mesmerizing voices. Haha.
I would like to thank Alicia for allowing me to use her room for one of the shoots. We had to shift her bed and cause her to run up and down to open the door for us. Thanks dear.
Oh yes, I would like to thank Benson as well. Haha. As I was unable find a word that I couldn’t translate, he responded to my MSN pleas. Thank you for your timely input. I wonder if he will see this. Haha.
This is a short film about loneliness, solitariness and emptiness. It also revolves around repetition and waiting. Do you realise that there are people who stay in the vicinity, yet there isn’t any chances of interaction? There is no social interaction despite the close proximity.
This was a school assignment that was due a few days ago. This version here went through further editing after I submitted a copy to my tutor as I noticed some parts that require refining. Haha. Although it’s too late to submit this version, I am still glad to share this on my vlog. Do leave your comments. Thanks.
This video was actually taken last year, 9 May 2007. It was just a random thought to post this. It was so long ago and my hair was still brown! I just miss the place and great time that we had. It’s no doubt fun to take videos when you are touring with friends. Anyways, this video was taken by RONG XUAN! It was one of the rare times that the camera wasn’t in my clutches! You can’t see her but you can hear her. Haha.
It was really hard to find Jay Chou’s store. We had to endure the scorching weather, the distance, the wrong directions and our footwear! I remember my sneakers were giving me trouble and i ended up with blisters. I think Rong Xuan, Shi Qin and Felicia weren’t any better off as well. Poor us. Well, i wouldn’t have mind the distance if I have walked with my flip-flops. Actually I wondered if we have found the right store? Somebody told me that his current store is called “PHANTACI”. I watched the video on YouTube but it doesn’t look anything like this one here. Oh well, he probably has more than one store? Cause he’s Jay Chou after all? Haha.
This was taken on the 4th September. My JIE MEIS and i met up for a farewell dinner for guoliang who would be going to taiwan for an overseas posting till next may. That’s gonna be pretty long. Oh by the way, he’s already there. Haha. I hope he can see this video too. I like this happy and relaxed song by David Tao too I forgot why we called ourselves JIE MEIS back in year one of our poly days. It doesn’t matter actually, because what’s more important is that we had fun, be it in the past or present. It’s so hard to arrange for meetings ever since we had graduated. Perhaps guoliang’s news of departure called for a prompt get-together session. Somebody thank guoliang. Haha.
Do you call it timer or auto-shutter or what? What i meant was to set the camera in a mode whereby it takes photo automatically. Anyways, this video was taken on the 5th September. We were at Terminal 3 to send LY off. She’s leaving us behind for UK!!! Haha. I just chatted with her on skype and the place she is in currently looks beautiful! Okay back to the video. Last Saturday, as i was skimming through my videos, i noticed something funny about this part of the video and that made me laugh almost perpetually. Haha. Check out mabel’s expression (the girl in black). Wow i’m getting more efficient in posting videos! Yay! I have more to go!
This was taken on 23rd July. I thought it was funny because whenever we get together for a meal, we can have multiple conversations within a single table. Haha. Perhaps girls’ gatherings are like that. It was like the first time in many years where ALL of us were present for a meal. Anyways in case you were wondering what we were talking about, we were talking about a Channel U drama “The perfect cut”, where thomas ong is a plastic surgeon. He was turning blind at that time. Bobby is another plastic surgeon second to thomas ong in terms of surgery skills and definitely looks. You know it from terry’s expressions and words. Wahaha. Anyways it’s just one of those telly dramas for plain folks like us to watch and talk about it.
